"I truly believe Tae Kwon Do can make a huge change to people's lives. How do I know? Because it changed mine".
Tae Kwon Do really is an all encompasing sport. Whatever your age or ability, HED TKD offers qualified training at your pace.
Our sport teaches you the art of self defence and combat skills, but it also promotes discipline, control, tolerance and respect for others.
Many of our students train as a family! Not only does everyone benefit from learning the art, but they spend quality time together in the process.
HED TKD is a member of the Tae Kwon Do
Association of Great Britain, Europe's largest
single martial arts organisation.
Entry information for our members. Come along and have fun. As explained in the instructions, please print out & use the entry form(s) (below) from this section of our website. BEFORE the deadline date.
To enter T.A.G.B. tournaments, correctly complete a form (one per competitor) in accordance with the relevant competitions entry information. Give the completed form etc. to your instructor BEFORE the deadline date.
In order to be eligable to apply for any grading students must attend and participate in relevant sessions, study and practice all of their syllabus to their instructors satifaction. As the appropriate knowledge is aquired a student may ofcourse discuss things with their instructor and at some point obtain their prior approval to apply for the next graading.
Grading forms can only be obtained by participating students at the club during lesson time (direct from your instructor) and cannot be obtained or submitted on-line. As grading dates approach your instructor will announce the availability of application forms.
Obtaining a form does not guarantee that you will be able/allowed to grade and definately does not guarantee a pass and/or promotion to the next level.
Dates for gradings may change so you must look at the grading form when you get it and listen for your instructors confirmation of dates. Preliminarey dates of gradings are sometime posted in the messages area so please check that part of this site for any appropriate note.
Black belts (16yrs old & over) must attend qualifying courses as part of their syllabus. Our members cannot obtain forms for such courses on-line as we complete and type them for you. Each person should discuss/select their own relevant courses/dates as each becomes available (messages) discussing it with their instructor well in advance and then applying via them at least 2 months in advance. Your instructor will confirm any relevant fee for the course and you must provide them also with at least 2 recent passport sized photographs with your name printed on the back of each. Once you have provided your information and any fee we register you for the course without you haveing to fill in any forms.
Junior black belts
Gradings: If while you were under 16, you have passed relevant star grading(s) then when you become 16 years old you must train correctly etc to qualify, and ensure that you apply for & attend to take your 2nd Dan within 10 months of your 16th Birthday. Otherwise normal rules will apply and so when you become 16 years old you must also attend & pass the Umpires Courses before you apply to grade.
